Position Description
Energy research is a core activity at Heriot-Watt University which spans across expertise drawn from our activities in the physical sciences and engineering. The focus on energy research at the University has changed in recent years and. To meet current and future demands of sustainable energy supply, the University has developed the Energy Theme to harness the strengths of existing research and focus that effort on key areas.
One of these focused efforts is tackling the removal, storage and future utilisation of CO2 from current and future power generation facilities. The University wishes to appoint at a senior level, a suitably qualified person with relevant skills and experience to contribute and provide leadership in research and contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
In addition to the general leadership in this area, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake specific research in the science and/or technology surrounding the removal of CO2 from large power generating facilities, and play a major contributing part of a recent EPSRC funding in this area.
Salary
Chair: from £53,650 dependent on qualifications and experience
Senior Lecturer: £44,931 - £52,086
