Alumnus Thomas Truskett *01 to receive the 2007 AIChE Colburn Award

Chemical Engineering alumnus Thomas M. Truskett (Ph.D. *01) will receive the
2007 Allan P. Colburn Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers
(AIChE) at its November Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City. Truskett is currently
Associate Professor and Paul D. and Betty Robertson Meek Centennial Fellow with
the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Texas-Austin. The award
is given to AIChE members under the age of 36 who have exhibited excellence in
publications. Truskett is being recognized "for pioneering statistical
mechanical theory and computer simulation methods for modeling the structure,
kinetics, and thermodynamics of chemical and biophysical systems."
Other
Princeton alumni/ae who have received this prestigious award in recent years
include Lynn Loo (2006), Costas Maranas (2002), Jackie Ying (2000), Sangtae Kim
(1993) and Alice Gast (1992).
Current Princeton faculty who have
received this award include Lynn Loo (2006), Thanos Panagiotopoulos (1995) and
Yannis Kevrekidis (1994).
