Background
Marty Gran is originally
from Omaha, Nebraska. He received a B.S.
in chemical engineering from Iowa State
University in the spring of 2006. At Iowa
State, he researched the use of novel polyanhydrides
for the release of therapeutic proteins
under Dr. Balaji Narasimhan. As an undergraduate
he also worked as a process engineer intern
for Cedar River Paper in Cedar Rapids, IA
and studied abroad in Oviedo, Spain. In
the fall of 2006, he entered the graduate
program at the University of Texas at Austin
to pursue a Ph.D. in chemical engineering.
