NAMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Awards


The NAMS Annual Meeting Student Travel Awards are presented annually to outstanding young students who are just beginning research in the membrane area. Preference will be given to undergraduates and graduate students within the first 2 years of their graduate program.

Each NAMS Annual Meeting Travel Award will provide up to $1000 reimbursement for reasonable expenses associated with attending the meeting (e.g. travel cost, registration, workshops), and a free one-year membership in NAMS. Applicants must be nominated by a current member of NAMS.

Application materials (submitted as one electronic PDF file)

  • the following items must be submitted as a single PDF file or the application will be rejected:
  • one-page resume describing the applicant's education (including undergraduate and graduate GPA) and work experience,
  • 1-2 page letter written by the applicant describing (i) her/his interest in membrane science/technology, (ii) applicant's current undergraduate or graduate research, and (iii) how attendance at the meeting will be beneficial to their research/career, and
  • one-page nomination letter by faculty supervisor who is a current member of NAMS.

Application deadlines and review
Application packages must be received by February 1, 2010 per e-mail to Ingo Pinnau, ingo.pinnau@kaust.edu.sa. Applications will be reviewed by the NAMS Awards Committee. Award decisions will be made by April 1, 2010.

We expect to provide up to 5 Annual Meeting Student Travel Awards for NAMS 2010.
