The Sustainable Energy Initiative at the University of Notre Dame

The Sustainable Energy Initiative at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a research faculty position in solar energy research. Areas of interest include photochemical energy conversion and storage, solar cells and new technologies, new solar materials and photochemical reduction of CO2.  Notre Dame’s sustainable energy initiative encompasses the Colleges of Science and Engineering, builds on existing strengths in materials for sustainable nuclear, fossil, and solar energy, and represents a new phase in the University’s research growth with strategic investment in people and infrastructure. Successful candidates will engage in research and in the set up and operation of a new solar user facility.  The solar laboratory will enable researchers to conduct state-of-the art testing of materials for the conversion of solar energy to chemical fuels.  It is anticipated that the successful candidate will develop his/her own research program both independently and in collaboration with other researchers involved in the sustainable energy initiative.
