How many graduate students are admitted?
There is no set amount of students admitted as there isn’t a quota to fill or limit on offers. Simply, we make offers to top students.
What is the average GRE score and GPA of admitted students?
This depends on the applicant pool; for U.S. citizens and permanent residents the median GPA was 3.9 and the median GRE was 1400 for verbal and quantitative sections in 2011. For international students, a GRE total above 1250 is competitive.
Can I work for a specific professor?
There is no guarantee students can work under a specific professor. Students will get one of their top three choices.
If I am an international student from a non-English speaking country that got by bachelor’s degree from a U.S. university, am I still required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language?
Yes. The TOEFL is required for all international students whose first language is not English.
