Every year Friends of Alec sponsors the Alec Building Contest, where student organizations and FIGs build their own version of our patron saint. Once the statues are submitted, they travel to the different engineering buildings on display and have photos posted online. Students, faculty, staff and alumni vote online for their favorite Alec of the year. The winning statue is announced at Alec’s Birthday Party on March 30. The winning student group receives $500 and their statue is put on display in the McKinney Engineering Library. Go to this site for more information and to register online.
