The Departmental Orientation for incoming graduate students takes place Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m in CPE 2.222.

1:30 p.m. Benefits Overview (Graduate Coordinator, T Stockman)
2:00 p.m. Department Welcome (Departmental Chair, Dr. Roger T. Bonnecaze)
2:10 p.m. Qualifying Exams, Degree Requirements, Supervising Professor Selections (Graduate Advisor, Isaac Sanchez)
*The Department Orientation is required for new graduate students.
International Student Orientation
International students are also required to attend the International Student Orientation Program on Friday, August 17 starting at 09:30 a.m. in the Texas Union Ballroom (UNB) followed by lunch at the Rec Sports Center (RSC) from 12:30- 2:30 p.m. Visit the International Office website for more information about this orientation and the International Student Welcome Weekend.
New Graduate Student Picnic
The New Graduate Student Picnic is Friday, September 14, 2012 starting at 3:00 p.m. in Eastwoods Park at 3001 Harris Park Ave., Austin, Texas 78705. Barbecue will be served at 5:00 p.m.
