Thesis

Thesis

Dates and instructions for thesis submission are posted early each semester in the deadlines and forms section of the Graduate School’s website. It is the student’s responsibility to be familiar with all deadlines and submission requirements for the Graduate School, the department and their individual supervising professor.

Graduate School

The Graduate School requires a single copy of each thesis to be uploaded directly to the Texas Digital Library in PDF format.  More detailed information on electronic these and dissertations, their preparation, conversion to PDF format, and publication can be found on the Graduate School’s website along with other information related to dissertations at the university. The Thesis and Dissertation Support Specialist Bob Penman can be contacted on bpennman@austin.utexas.edu or (512) 475-9365 for further assistance.

*Please note, a paper copy is not required by the Graduate School, however paper copies are required by the department.

Chemical Engineering Department

Students are required to submit one hard copy bound in a burgundy leatherette to the graduate coordinator in the Graduate Office located in CPE 3.408.

Supervising Professor

One hard copy, also bound in burgundy leatherette, is required for the supervising professor. Ask the supervising professor if they prefer an electronic version of the thesis and if any additional printed copies are required.

Personal Copies

Students are advised to keep one or more bound copies for personal records.

Form of Thesis

The Graduate School has certain requirements regarding the form of the thesis, type of paper, reproduction and some items to be included. Individual supervising professors may have certain additional requirements. The student should understand and comply with these requirements. Graduate students are responsible for the costs of thesis preparation and publication.
